Bream Gardening Society

We are a group of people from Bream and district interested in gardening and our gardens. New members are welcome to join us to benefit from local knowledge, to swap ideas and plants with our friendly members and to enjoy our meetings, shows and visits.

Hello Bream Gardeners

Coming soon… …..The Autumn Show on Saturday 22nd October

Click here for the schedule so you can get started planning your entries.

Just to keep things interesting, there are a couple of things to point out: On pages 16 and 17, the class numbers are correct but they have been printed in the wrong order! Classes 42 and 43 are at the end of the section.

Preparation for the Autumn Show is expected very soon but in the meantime the summer show advice remains as there are obviously similarities. To help us prepare the judges have given us advice sheets, this means we know what points they are looking for and also it can save us from being ‘not as schedule’! So, please enter as many items as you can to make this a bumper show but my advice is to check the details for the class you are entering and read the relevant advice sheets below. Happy Planning and remember to get your entries in by 6pm on Thursday 20th October

We will be following current government guidance regarding COVID-19 at all times, and we are mindful that this may change over the coming months. Therefore, for the foreseeable future, we will be releasing the BGS programme two months at a time.

We want all of our members to feel safe and comfortable as we cautiously return to hosting indoor events.

PLEASE NOTE: From 9th November we are moving our meetings to Bream Sports and Social Club (venue for the BGS Summer Show) as the club are able to provide us with a much larger room which we hope will be more suitable for talks and meetings; many of which attract many members and guests.

Obviously, if you think that you may have any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend any BGS meetings or events. Please sign in when you arrive at any of our indoor meetings. Try to minimise close contact with others, and please practise good hand and respiratory hygiene at all times. The wearing of masks is encouraged but not compulsory. If you develop any symptoms of COVID-19 after attending a BGS event, please take a PCR test. If positive, it is very important that we are able to inform the other BGS members who were in attendance. Many thanks for your cooperation at this difficult time. We have a packed programme this Autumn and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

The 155th Annual Flower and Produce Show
was held Saturday 22nd August 2020.

*This year the show was an online event.

Due to the current uncertainties we chose to hold a virtual show this year. This was the 155th annual show, in all these years there has only been one summer without a show and that was due to the General Strike of 1926. We are keen to keep Bream Gardening Society Summer Show running and as good as ever, just different.

Everyone was welcome to enter, you did not have to be a member of Bream Gardening Society.

What we do
