Hello Bream Gardeners

IMPORTANT NEWS A.G.M will be held in February 2022 as a ‘face-to-face’ meeting. Details to follow once venue is confirmed

Bream Gardening Society Quilting Group are meeting regularly again. This month we had an interesting workshop run by Jen Johnson from www.sewforestofdean.co.uk. Visit her website to see details of her workshops, amongst other information. She also has a Facebook page. Our workshop was a scrap project and used fabric selvedges, which would normally be discarded, to make interesting textile notebook covers and needlecases. We are bringing our finished items to the next meeting so hopefully there will be some photographic evidence! I believe that a good time was had by all who attended so a big Thank You to Jen Johnson (sewforestofdean.co.uk)

We are very pleased to announce that we will be resuming our regular monthly meetings on Tuesday, 14th September 2021.

We will be following current government guidance regarding COVID-19 at all times, and we are mindful that this may change over the coming months. Therefore, for the foreseeable future, we will be releasing the BGS programme two months at a time.

We want all of our members to feel safe and comfortable as we cautiously return to hosting indoor events.

PLEASE NOTE: From 9th November we are moving our meetings to Bream Sports and Social Club (venue for the BGS Summer Show) as the club are able to provide us with a much larger room which we hope will be more suitable for talks and meetings; many of which attract many members and guests.

Obviously, if you think that you may have any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend any BGS meetings or events. Please sign in when you arrive at any of our indoor meetings. Try to minimise close contact with others, and please practise good hand and respiratory hygiene at all times. The wearing of masks is encouraged but not compulsory. If you develop any symptoms of COVID-19 after attending a BGS event, please take a PCR test. If positive, it is very important that we are able to inform the other BGS members who were in attendance. Many thanks for your cooperation at this difficult time. We have a packed programme this Autumn and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Autumn Show 2021 Thank you to everyone who attended, it was another great show with a large number of exhibits. Here’s a selection of photos:

The 155th Annual Flower and Produce Show
was held Saturday 22nd August 2020.

*This year the show was an online event.

Due to the current uncertainties we chose to hold a virtual show this year. This was the 155th annual show, in all these years there has only been one summer without a show and that was due to the General Strike of 1926. We are keen to keep Bream Gardening Society Summer Show running and as good as ever, just different.

Everyone was welcome to enter, you did not have to be a member of Bream Gardening Society.
