“A Garden Above the Estuary” Adam Alexander
Tuesday 13th April 2021 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Adam Alexander will be giving us a zoom talk on his garden at Itton on
Tuesday 13th April to start off our gardening year. When visits are once more an option we will have an informal trip there. Please look out for dates later in the year. The talk lasts about 45 minutes with an option to ask questions afterwards. Some of you may remember Adam gave us a talk on his seed collecting trips around the world and brought many packets of his saved seed with him. His speciality is beans and peas.
A GARDEN ABOVE THE ESTUARY Tuesday 13th April 2021. 7.00 pm
From a neglected field in 2014 to a highly productive fruit and vegetable garden, my plot, overlooking the Severn Estuary is an arc for growing nearly five hundred varieties of rare, endangered, delicious heritage and heirloom varieties from around the world. In this talk I tell the story of my work as a seed guardian for the Heritage Seed Library and the benefits of sustainable and organic gardening. With very little effort one can turn the most neglected space into an imperfect paradise! Filled with guidance, helpful tips and techniques to keep
growing affordable and pleasurable my mantra is, ‘If you want to eat great food you really should grow it yourself!’
Also Adam is happy to supply seeds to our orders, see details and order form with February newsletter
