1976 January members letter

BREAM HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

1.1.76.

Dear Member,
Among the matters arising at the last committee meeting, was a discussion of the Summer and Autumn Shows, the pros and cons of holding the Summer Show in the School or in the tents, possible changes in the respective schedules, some additional attraction at the Summer show, the care and maintenance of our equipment, and of course the forthcoming A.G.M.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on TUESDAY, JANUARY 20th, at 7.15 p.m. at The Bream Rugby Club, when it is hoped that a goodly number of our 130 members will be present to hear the Officers’ Reports for the year, discuss possible pro-gramme for 1976, and elect new officers for ’76. As well as a chairman, Vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer and membership secretary, it might be thought desirable to elect additional officers in order to share out the administrative work.
A very pleasing note in respect of 1975 is that many more members have come forward to serve on committee and sub-committee, and also to give real help in running the shows. This is particularly a good thing, and we trust that this willingness to help will continue in the year before us.
In February there will be an open meeting in the School, when we shall be able to hear a talk given by the Field Officer of Messrs Boots Itd., (with slide illustrations), and also, a pleasant hour viewing the colour slides taken by Mr.Roy Haviland.

Best wishes for the New Year,

Yours sincerely,

M. N. Thompson.
